The history of the enterprise began in a 1916 from organization in Russia of production of automobiles "Russo-Balt ". From a middle of the 20-th years of the last century at factory the batch production of russian air engineering was adjusted. At the enterprise issue air TB-1 (АNТ-4). ТB-3 (АNТ-6), PЕ-2, IL-4, TU-2 strategic air М-4, ЗМ, М-50 etc.

1960-1993. Development of rocket engineering

In an extremity of 1959 the enterprise was переориентировано on rocket subjects. At the enterprise form a universal battle(dashing) rocket UR-200, set of intercontinental ballistic missiles of a type UR-100, high-power battle ballistic missile UR-500, later переориентированной for fulfilment of problems on deduction of space vehicles and received a title «Proton». Creation of accelerating blocks.

At the enterprise all Soviet and russian orbital stations, including «Salut», «Almaz», «Mir», all heavy modules docked with orbital stations on orbit, and also three-man returned meanses were created. Orbital insertion of manned meanses and their operation have allowed to supply conditions for work of the person in deep space and обогатило a domestic science.

1993-2005 Perfectings of space-rocket engineering. International cooperation.

KHRUNICHEV State Research and Production Space Center is one from the leaders on development and introduction in operation of new space technologies both in Russia, and in the international space market. Modernizing of the launcher «Proton», creation of the launcher of «Roar», set of rockets - carriers «Angara», accelerating blocks Briz-М, Briz-KM, 12 КRB, realization of the international projects International Launch Services, Eurockot, international space station, «Baiterek», «Kazsat», cooperation to India, Southern Korea etc.
