Special Characters

This is a complete table of the use of special characters in HTML as specified in HTML 3.2. They are needed because the 8 bit codes for special characters are different on different platforms. In this table you will find the entity name, how it actually looks, the entity number and a description.

The number and the entity name can both be used in HTML documents. It does not make any difference which one you use.

Not all characters display correctly in browsers on all platforms, unfortunately.
